A Windy Spring Family Session in Panama City Beach

There’s something about the wind that brings a kind of magic to photographs—soft strands of hair swept across a cheek, dresses dancing in the breeze, laughter carried off into the air. Our April session with Morgan, Derek, their two sweet girls, and Morgan’s mother Lisa and her fiancé Gary was the perfect reminder that sometimes, the wildest weather gives us the most whimsical moments.

We met by the beach in Panama City Beach, FL, where the wind had already made itself known. The sky was moody and overcast, the kind that turns every shot into a painting. Despite the blustery air, the family embraced the day with so much enthusiasm and joy.

Morgan and Derek’s daughters are little muses in motion. It’s impossible to get a bad picture of them. Their playfulness perfectly mirroring the carefree beauty of the setting.

And then, a beautiful surprise—Morgan’s mother and her fiancé stepped in for a romantic mini session of their own. Their quiet connection and ease added a whole new layer of love to the day, and I felt so honored to capture a glimpse into this chapter of their story.

What I love most about this session is how the wind seemed to wrap itself around every frame, adding motion, softness, and a sense of dreaminess to the entire gallery. There is nothing quite like the Florida Panhandle during an impending storm; it was timeless and a little wild.

To the families who let me into their lives for these fleeting moments: thank you. Your love makes the art come alive.

With love,
Samantha
